RailMind
Privacy policy
The short version: RailMind collects nothing, tracks nothing, and has no account and no analytics. It talks to exactly two things, both of them Apple’s and both on your behalf: the App Store — at launch, to check whether you already own the unlock and to fetch its price, and again if you buy or restore it — and your own iCloud, to keep a backup of your track plans. Nothing goes to us — we have no servers.

RailMind collects no data
There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics. RailMind does not ask for, gather, or transmit any personal information. There is no data collection to opt out of, because there is none to begin with.
Your plans stay yours
Track plans are stored on your iPad. If that iPad is signed into iCloud, RailMind also keeps a copy of each plan in your own iCloud storage, so your library survives deleting and reinstalling the app and follows you to another iPad. This backup is on by default; you can switch it off at any time in Layout settings, and you can still export every plan to a file yourself from the Plans menu.
Those copies sit in your iCloud account, under your Apple Account — not ours. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, we have no servers that could receive them, and we cannot see what your iCloud holds. iCloud holds only the plans themselves: piece types, positions and the name you gave each layout.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple
RailMind is free to build a starter layout — 10 straights and curves, 2 turnouts, and 2 special pieces. Removing those limits is a single in-app purchase: StoreKit talks to Apple to complete it, and to confirm on later launches that you own it.
That conversation is between your iPad and Apple. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name — Apple does not share them with us, and RailMind has no server for them to arrive at. We hold no record of who bought the app. Nothing about a purchase is attached to your plans, and your plans are never sent to us whether you buy or not.
Offline everywhere else
Apart from the App Store and your own iCloud backup, RailMind makes no network connections. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. Drawing, snapping, saving, the parts list, imports and 3D all work in airplane mode — iCloud simply catches up the next time you are online.
Switching the backup off stops RailMind sending your plans to iCloud or reading them back, with one exception worth knowing: deleting a plan still records the deletion in iCloud — its name and internal id, and no track data — so that the deletion is not undone the next time backup is switched on or another iPad syncs.
No tracking, no ads, no third parties
RailMind does not track you across apps or websites, contains no advertising, and bundles no third-party SDKs. Its App Privacy label on the App Store reads “Data Not Collected” — buying the unlock does not change that, because the purchase data belongs to Apple and is never passed to us.
This website
Everything above is about the app. This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it counts page views without setting cookies, fingerprinting your browser, or following you to other sites. The app itself still sends nothing to us — only to Apple, on your behalf, as described above.
What the privacy manifest declares
RailMind ships an Apple privacy manifest that declares exactly two “required-reason” APIs. The file-timestamp reason (C617.1) is used to sort your saved plans by date. The settings reason (UserDefaults, CA92.1) covers your preferences: typeface and display toggles, palette position, board and grid colors, the onboarding flag, your imported track inventory, the iCloud-backup switch, and which plan you had open last. All of it is written by RailMind for RailMind, stays on your own device, and is never read by other apps. Nothing is declared for tracking, because nothing is used for tracking.
Children
Because RailMind collects no data of any kind, it collects no data from children. It is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
